Michigan State University – African media project

Projects-Direct.Net is currently providing media and communications services to the ‘Guiding Investments in Sustainable Agricultural Markets in Africa’ (GISAMA) project, in partnership with the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

So far the project has published a two-page feature article by Dann Okoth for The Standard newspaper in Kenya, a two-page feature article by Ephraim Munthali in the Nation newspaper in Malawi that formed part of an eight-page special pull-out on agriculture, and a feature article by Armsfree Onomo of The Sunday Guardian in Nigeria. The researchers in the US and Zambia also produced an Op-Ed that was published in The Guardian online Global Development webpages in London.

The GISAMA project is keen to make its work better known amongst the African public. The project views success as providing research findings that are collaboratively developed and disseminated to the public and private sectors for consideration in policy and private investment decision-making.
