Quarterly, annual and final project reports are often the launch pad for future funding opportunities, extension of grants, reflection and lesson learning within your organisation on how to improve replication or expansion of similiar projects.
Done well, these reports are a dynamic part of your organisation's project cycle management.
The contents of your report will depend on who the potential audience for your report will be. Increasingly project reports are published as donors and small NGOs apply IATI files onto their own website.
A good report captures the evidence for project results and outcomes, through accurate qualitative and quantitiative data, but it also should paint a picture of the project by including photographs of activites, staff and anedcotes from beneficiaries and stakeholders. The project logframe and budget are the basis on which the report is built, but that should not prevent it from showing off your project's achievements.
A well-presented report should also have excellent English and lay out.
